How to speed up your PC? (part 1)

Slow computer

There are several reasons why your computer is slow, so there are also several ways to speed up your computer… (Every problem has its solution, in principle, the whole thing is to find it! xD) The various reasons the + frequent:

  1. PC too old
  2. Hardware problem
  3. Infected PC
  4. PC not optimized

For too old PCs and hardware problem, there is no miracle, you have to change the components, they are no longer powerful enough or defective (but you can still apply the tricks), and for infected PCs, you have to disinfect them. I will here give you some methods only to optimize its PC, because it is necessary to know that a computer is not optimized by default, it was designed to be usable by a maximum of people, which makes certain functions that are activated by default are not used and consume resources for nothing! = > your PC is slowing down because not to the fullest of its capabilities! (And for laptops, in +, battery power decrease!) First, we will make room on the hard drive, because a filled hard drive slows down the PC because it continually moves the files within it. The less space there is, the less it has choice of location, and the more it will have to look or there is still space! Then we will re-arrange the files; as the uses are measured, the hard disk fragmenting the files and puts them everywhere… It must be understood that when the files are too fragmented, your hard drive must move too much to gather the various fragments scattered on your disk, resulting in a decrease in performance and wear of your hard drive…

  • Cleaning with CCleaner

To download here, install it, and launch it. Once done, you will have 2tabs on the left: "Windows" and "applications". Normally there is nothing to configure, but some people do not want to lose the history of their Internet browsing… If this is your case, uncheck all the boxes in the "Internet Explorer" section of the "Windows" tab, and in the "applications" tab and uncheck all the boxes in the "Firefox/Mozilla" section. If you want to keep the history of your documents open recemments (Start menu = > recent documents), in this case, uncheck "recent documents" in the "Windows Explorer" section if you still want to keep files that you sent to the Recycle Bin, you must uncheck "empty trash" in the "system" section. To start cleaning, click "scan" and then "clean". And voila, you did a little cleaning!

  • Defragmentation with Auslogics Disk Defrag

Download here. As I explained above, defragmentation is used to… Defragment your hard drive! xD install it and launch it, if it is not in French, click on "settings", then on "program settings" and change the language. Choose your hard drive if you have more than one and the ones you want to defragment, then click "defragment". Defragmentation can take a few minutes to + long, depending on the percentage of defragmentation. There are many other software defragmentation but personally this one is the one I appreciate the +: very light, does a great job even better compared to other very well known Defragmenter I tried (O&O Defrag, Diskeeper, Defraggler to name only them), uses little resource and is in French! lol why use Auslogics Disk Defrag instead of Windows Defragmenter?

  • Windows Defragmenter is not optimized and does not optimize
  • Windows Defragmenter consumes far too many resources
  • Windows defrag is practically incapable of defraging when the hard drive is full
  • Windows defrag is way too slow
  • Windows defrag does not consolidate free space
  • Windows defrag is unable to move the + files used at the beginning of hard drive
  • Windows defrag is unable to defragment a specific file (except under seven)
  • Windows defrag cannot change skin
  • Etc…

  • Other optimization: Windows services and programs launched at startup

This part will be developed in the 2nd part… If your computer has never been defragmented or has been defraging with Windows Defragmenter, normally you will already feel an improved responsiveness side with Auslogics Disk Defrag. The second part is available here
