List of software to discover

Here is a list of software that I think are absolutely to be discovered, most of them are super, but everyone may not all know ^ ^.

They are all free, almost all light, easy to take in hand, and above all do their job very well! :-)

Antivirus:

• AntiVir

AntiSpyware:

• Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware (scan scheduled, the shield in time real-paying-that I tested did not convince me, especially the IP blocking which blocks far too healthy IP address…) In addition, Antivir is also office anti!)

Anti Active-X:

• SpywareBlaster

Firewall:

• Comodo Internet Security (at the base, it was a single firewall, for some time, it became a full security suite, but you can choose between the different modules)

HIPS:

• WinPatrol (allows to detect an intrusion of malware)

Audio player:

• XMPlay (little known, but super lightweight and customizable!)
• VLC

Video player

• VLC
• Media Player Classic (with the codec pack)

Defragmenter:

• Auslogics Disk Defrag (light and powerful!)

Cleaner:

• CCleaner
• PureRa
• JavaRa (cleaning only for Java)

Web browser:

• Firefox (is not light, but is very customizable. For addons, go see my other article)

Mail client

• Thunderbird

Word processing:

• OpenOffice.Org (office suite)

Pdf Reader:

• Foxit Reader

Pdf Edition:

• PDF Split and merge (allows to cut and reassemble PDFs)

Image viewer:

• FastStone Image Viewer

Screenshot (screenshooter)

• Screenpresso (lightweight and very interesting functions)

Image editor

• Paint.netr
• Inpaint (can easily eliminate unwanted elements of an image. The free version does not save images)

Burning:

Virtual drive:

• Daemon Tools Lite

Hosts file manager:

• Iconize (allows a program open in minimized near your clock icon)
