Test / Reviews: Samsung Galaxy Device Connection Kit, Kit with HDMI Output

We are increasingly using our phones as real mini laptops, both to go on the internet, to watch a video, to listen to music, sometimes even download torrents. Only one of the main limitations is the connection. Whether it's transferring data or watching a movie on another screen, the microUSB port isn't the most effective on its own.
To fill this need, there are small adapters including the GH15A which is a 5-in-1 connection kit from MHL.

The test

It is important to note that the word "dedicated only to Samsung Galaxy devices" is legitimate here. Sometimes a product is made for one phone but works on another. For this connector I was able to test on an LG and an Apple without success. That being said, let's move on to the case that works with
a Samsung Galaxy. Its use is simple, connect the MicroUSB connector (or micro 11P) to the phone, add the device to connect and then press the white button "Host/Cards ON" to start contacting. The white button in question is an LED connection indicator. So it will be Yellow when using HDMI, red with USB, and blue when the device will be an SD/MicroSD card.

The use of USB

Simply plug in a USB USB USB key storage device, press the white button until it turns red. Then on the mobile you can access the files simply via the file explorer. From there it is possible to either just read a file or make a transfer. Noted that if the phone is compatible, it is also possible to connect via this USB port a device type video game controller and thus enjoy a real controller to play.

The use of SD/microSD cards

As for USB just put in the slot a storage card, press the white button until it turns blue. Then on the mobile you can access the file simply via the file explorer.

The use of HDMI (and microUSB)

Small shade to use HDMI, it will also be necessary to have an external source of current. This current will be provided via the female microUSB socket (and yes it is used for that). You have to connect the HDMI socket to the adapter, and use a microUSB cable connected to a standard power source, i.e. for example a USB/microUSB cable that is used to charge the phone, a similar cable for sector is also usable. After pressing the white button until it turns yellow. You have to wait about 10 seconds for the sync between the TV screen and the phone, after that you just have to launch a video or view a photo to enjoy it on the big screen.

This small HUB connection is very convenient with Samsung Galaxy mobiles. It allows you to quickly transfer data between phones and USB storage devices, read SD and microSD cards, duplicate your phone screen on a TV. In addition it is small, light and easy to use, no maneuver is necessary to operate except press a single button.
