Test / Review: Excelvan cleaner by ultrasonic baths

test-Avis-appreciation-critique-review-1 Once is not custom, here is the test of a machine's cleaning by ultrasonic baths!

An ultrasonic bath, what's that?

Specifically, a ultrasonic bath is a bath of liquid (usually water) subject to high frequencies of ultrasound. These high-frequency ultrasonic raise a phenomenal amount of mini-bubbles of air in the water bath. What are these mini-bubbles of air, first, that will detach the impurities or dissolve them on parts to shine. Ultrasonic baths have a big advantage to access inaccessible areas with a brush for example, because water (and therefore also bubbles!) past in every small corner! There is no mechanical effect like a washing machine classic, no need to remove different part of a piece which would be composed of different materials.   These ultrasonic baths are especially interesting for the mechanical parts full of fat and other impurities. In computer science, there are relatively few mechanical parts except at the level of the HDD, and so few parts to really clean, it is mainly the dust. There is just at the level of radiators and fans that it is a bit more difficult to clean. But if for example you spill a can of paint in your open pc (must still do so, but hey, I know someone who did…) "I know even a person who has had a soccer ball that went in his computer…), I wish you good luck to clean all the parts without ultrasonic baths! Although these ultrasonic bath must contain a liquid, cleaning of electronic parts don't ask problems! It is a matter of logic, but these are just sources of energy which are to spread. The rest, once it's dry, there is no worries! That's why when a smartphone falls into the water, he must remove the battery, then let it dry, with lucky once dry, your smartphone can altogether work afterwards! Clean electronic parts, mechanical parts, jewelry, spectacles, dvds, sockets, hardware e-cigarettes, etc… poses no problem. On the other hand, a tip: avoid putting waterproof devices! Who says sealed, says device that works under water, and which said operation, said energy source! A waterproof watch works perfectly in 1 to 10 bar of water generally. In water, the pressure exerted on the seal is relatively uniform, and this pressure is directed towards the Interior of the watch for example. In the case of an ultrasonic bath water that is near the gasket, when subjected to high frequency ultrasound will begin to 'produce' tiny air bubbles, which subsequently will implode to loosen the dirt. But:

  • First, who said bubbles of air + water, said different pressure! Seal appreciate not particularly this pressure difference, especially when it is getting old!
  • Secondly, who said air bubbles, also said possibility (depending on different pressures) that these air bubbles enlarge the space near the joint. If space expands, there is a moment or the gasket will have no effect!
  • and thirdly, the release of dirt is by implosion (opposite of explosion) of air bubbles, so pressure is headed in the other direction! On a seal in a ultrasonic baths, your joint is subject to 3 different pressures in several places and non-stop: that of water (let's say really positive pressure), (successively or side) of the air bubble (let's say pressure positive, but different from that of water), followed by the implosion of the air bubble (let's say negative pressure). In short, the seal will be subject to a very hard battle which in the end may well be fatal.

N.B.: These tips and how it goes with joints are taken from my knowledge and deductions, I have seen no study saying my theories, but it seems to me highly likely. Parts with paint as some pairs of glasses can be problematic because the paint may disappear. The protection also anti-glare layer. In short, mainly for use on semi-solid solid parts. ultrasonic cleaner

The test

First element to point out, it is the traces of fingers! I did not think I have to speak, but in the light of traces that it can leave on the walls… Although this is a professional camera and therefore the design is much less important in this case, should still report it. Second element, is that it's the version we can say professional who will be tested here, so you have a water heater and a longer timer. But there are the more basic versions are available (see below). I did the test with a well crade watch strap (to the naked eye, it is relatively little visible without warning, but with zoom, it sucks ^^) and a USB cable covered by soil. But as I said in the introduction, many elements can there be immersed for a thorough cleaning. The use of the machine is simple: you have 2 buttons to turn:

  • one for the water heater
  • one for the countdown

2 Leds are also present to indicate the operation. Note that the time for heating is relatively long, which is quite normal because there are still 3 L of water to heat up, but also because heating is by induction, gas, etc… In reality, take it more as a double boiler, because according to use, if you want to keep the water at 80 ° C for 20 min (maximum time per session possible), it must be something that keeps that temperature ;-) Also note the absence of power switch/d ' extinction, but each potentiometer has a function OFF. GT-sonic-cleaner-heat-timer Relatively well ventilated for internal components: 2 vents on the back and one below. back-sonic-cleaner The tray is deeper than it is wide, a bit of a shame, because I find that half shallower and wider would have allowed a wider range of objects that can be put in, even if it means cleaning the different part several times. Concerning times, contrary to the washing machines, you have no time advised for such or such material Cela ^^ is a little at the feeling and experience. Personally, the first uses, I advise to take the minimum and do so per minute to ensure that you are satisfied. One of the elements that has been tested:

Conclusion

He has not to say, it is excellent, very efficient! A very useful technology to clean all the solid parts difficult to clean because inaccessible, etc…   The tested version is 3L, but there are 3 other models: 750mL, 1.3 L and 6L to know as main differences:

  • 750mL and 1. 3L: unheated and 5 time of heating up to 480 sec
  • 3L and 6L: heated and timer up to 20 minutes

Namely that the heating of water is primarily used to facilitate cleaning. But non-heated versions may very well accepted hot water from the beginning, should just heat it separately and a few drops of washing-up liquid should be sufficient for all that is daily cleaning. In a professional environment, according to fat, heated versions are more useful especially if prolonged use.     The 750mL version: http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B0118NX0RC/ version 1, 3L: http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B0118NX1EO/ 3L version: http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00OUK6WM6/ version 6L: http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00OUK72HA/ test-Avis-appreciation-critique-review-2
